“If your marriage is okay or even doing well, everybody knows that to keep your car running at top condition, you need to get the oil changed, you need to balance the tires and you need to keep things running at top condition. This can be like a 911 rescue for a struggling marriage. “Yes, if you’re struggling in your marriage, come. Plus, everyone’s going to think I’ve got problems with my marriage.’” Well, I totally get it, but that’s not what Love Worth Fighting For is all about,” Cameron says. “If someone invited me to a marriage event, (one) might have the reservation to say, ‘Hey, my marriage is fine. For those who are unsure about the event, Cameron is quick to point out that LWFF is geared toward all stages of relationships - including singles, engaged, new married and veteran couples. Throughout the past seven years, the Love Worth Fighting For tour has reached hundreds of thousands of people across the country, at more than 150 cities in America.
Cameron says the LWFF event is a mixture of humor, music, personal stories and biblical teaching on the subject of marriage - the “most important relationship on the planet,” Cameron says. Which, Cameron laughs, is “like 240 in Hollywood years.”Ĭameron provides personal stories and teaching at each event, while Barfield, who wrote the theme song to “Fireproof,” sings music and tells more stories. This is a movie that could be my life and I need to have happen to me what happened to that couple in that movie.’”Ĭameron and his own bride, Chelsea - who live in California with their six children - have been married for 24 years.
They said to themselves, ‘I’m looking at myself in this movie. “I think that’s why ‘Fireproof’ was so popular with people. “We can all relate to many of the things in ‘Fireproof,’” Cameron adds.
Love Worth Fighting For seeks to reverse this modern-day norm of divorce and struggling marriages. That number is up from 22 million, just 25 years ago in 1980.
